Photography Tips

Learning Photography is a fun and an enriching experience. Sometimes just a slight shift of emphasis turns a throwaway photograph into a treasured keeper. Taking great photographs relies on practice and experimentation. There are always instances when things go wrong with Photography, but it always helps to acknowledge and understand errors that may help you improve next time.

Here are some common problems and quick Photography Tips which would help in improving your images quickly.

Blurred Images: - Unless you purposely intended to shoot a blurred image, out of focus images are never good. This scenario usually arises when the exposure length is to long for the photographer to hold the camera still or the subject being photographed moves whilst the exposure is taking place. The best way to avoid camera blur is to use a sturdy tripod and a remote shutter for better control or if you are hand-holding the camera make sure the shutter speed/ISO are fast enough to eliminate camera shake in your hand.

Lack of subject focus in an image:- We often get overwhelmed with a scene and attempt to capture everything in one image.  To improve on this aspect, there are twophotography tips -eitherusezoom of your digital camera or move physically closer to the subject.   Make sure your subject is obvious by framing it using the rule of thirds as an example or just giving it the appropriate proportion of the frame to stand out.

Too dark or too bright images: - When there is not enough light the shutter speed is too slow, resulting exposure will be dark. Overexposed photos occur when too much light enters the camera and bright details are washed out, e.g. the sky. The best Photography tip is to always remember to check the histogram after every shot in image playback mode.  The histogram will show you whether you have under or over exposed your shot.

Learn your camera settings:- Chances are that you shoot most of the pictures with your camera’s automatic mode. This will give you average results. Take time to read your camera’s manual to understand when to use each shooting mode or better still attend one of my introductory photography courses to get a full insight into all those settings and when to use them.

There are no rights or wrongs when it comes to composition Be creative and experiment lots.

Practicing these basic photography tips will help you to gradually stand out from the crowd of snap shooters while also developing your own style.
